| Jonathan Freedman started his bachelors in Material Science & Engineering and Chemistry at the Technion, Haifa in 2022 and is currently in the final stages of his undergraduate studies.
Jonathan started working in the lab in April 2025 and is currently working on a project focusing on finding the equilibrium crystal shape (ECS) of zirconium carbide (ZrC). This study includes determining the solubility limit of yttrium in ZrC and it’s influence on the ECS. The project is conducted under the supervision of Dr. Rachel Marder and Prof. Wayne D. Kaplan. He also partakes in a project studying the magneto-optical properties of bismuth iodide single crystals in the research group Professor Efrat Lifshitz in the solid-state institute. His topics of interest include crystallization processes, inorganic and physical chemistry and mineralogy. |
